PDF - Trucking 101:The Basics Every Driver Must Know
This product is a downloadable PDF.
After a combined 30 years in the Industry, driving some of the biggest gear into the most remote places, we have been blessed to meet and be mentored by the old school, when no one would leave you behind and took the time to explain and assist with the only payment being “paying the information forward”. We (Amber and Teressa) have spent their careers mentoring, training and supporting our friends and colleagues. Over this time, we have seen a real gap in training and information available which ultimately impacts all of our safety, so we decided to create a series of educational reference guides to help you succeed, SAFELEY!
Trucking 101, to help drivers get the job done safely, legally, and without unnecessary stress.
- It has not been written for auditors.
- It has not been written for head office.
- It has been written for you, the driver!
Everything in this manual is based on lived experience, real mistakes we have made, the things we have seen on the road and the real consequences drivers face when things go wrong. Laws and rules matter, but what matters more is we understand how they show up in our everyday work, at the depot, during loading and unloading, and out on the road. This is a collection of things we wish we didn’t have to leaned “the hard way”.
This guide is not intended to substitute the Acts, Regulations, ADG Code, relevant Australian Standards or codes of practice that apply to your industry/workplace, but to clarify, simplify and collate them to provide an overview of safety requirements. It is intended as a guide only, T.I.TS- Transport Industry Training Solutions cannot be held responsible for any information, omissions or deletions within this guide. We will provide you with the links for the relevant legislation and any further information can be attained from the competent authority- LGIRS (formerly DEMIRS), WAHVA and the legislation that will be referenced throughout this guidebook, we want to inspire you to go on and learn more!
